NCT is the short name traders use for Nexus Chart Trader - a professional chart trader add-on for NinjaTrader 8. It replaces the native NT8 Chart Trader panel with custom buy sell buttons on the chart, one-click bracket orders, tamper-proof risk locks, auto-breakeven, and Smart Rotation across prop firm accounts.
Can I add custom buy sell buttons to NinjaTrader 8?
Yes. NinjaTrader 8 does not ship with configurable on-chart buy/sell buttons, so most traders either write custom NinjaScript or install an add-on. Nexus Chart Trader (NCT) adds a full custom button panel directly on your chart: buy/sell market, bar-close entries, POP and buy-dip entries, quantity steppers, flatten, reverse, and template buttons - no coding required. Does Nexus Chart Trader copy trades or rotate accounts?
Nexus Chart Trader includes account rotation: each new NCT entry can move to the next eligible account in your configured rotation. It does not broadcast a trade to every account. For standard master-follower copying, use Nexus Copier, available as a separate one-time purchase.
Can I use this for Apex Trader Funding accounts?
Absolutely. Nexus Chart Trader is optimized for Apex Trader Funding, Topstep, MyFundedFutures, and other major prop firms using Rithmic or Tradovate connections within NinjaTrader 8. It auto-detects account types (Pro, Eval, Sim) and applies the correct risk settings for each.
Does it work with Tradovate and Rithmic connections?
Yes. Nexus Chart Trader works with any connection type supported by NinjaTrader 8, including Rithmic, Tradovate, and CQG. Built-in order throttling helps keep rapid bracket adjustments stable on high-traffic connections.
Can I use it on multiple computers?
Each license is tied to a single NinjaTrader Machine ID (found in Help > About). If you need to transfer your license to a different machine, contact us and we'll re-activate it for you at no cost.
Does it work with NinjaTrader's built-in ATM strategies?
Nexus Chart Trader manages its own brackets. Disable ATM strategies when using Nexus to avoid duplicate orders, because Nexus handles take-profit, stop-loss, trailing, and breakeven logic internally.
What risk protections survive a NinjaTrader crash or restart?
Daily risk locks are durable - they survive app crashes, restarts, and reconnections. Your accounts stay locked until the session boundary clears them, even if NinjaTrader goes down.
How does the Indicator Attachment system work?
Click the attach button (🔗) on any TP or SL order, then hover over an indicator plot on your chart (EMA, SuperTrend, Levels, etc.) and click to attach. Your order will automatically follow that indicator's value in real-time. Works with any NinjaTrader indicator that has a visible plot.
